High School Private Pilot Flight Training
Our program accepts all income levels of students. We like to have at least 50% in the form of underrepresented, which is low-income, minority, and females.
Eligible students must be 16 years old and in 10th or 11th grade. We require our cadets to maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Students must also be able to attend flight lessons a minimum of twice a week.
Students that complete our program learn to plan and execute real-world tasks from start to finish. In their planning process, students will: interpret complex graphic and text weather data, use math to calculate speed, time to climb, fuel burn rates, alternative routing, radio frequencies, flight routes, and course headings.
WAA cadets are expected to maintain high discipline standards through: rigid adherence to checklists, precise calculations with little tolerance for error, structured decision-making strategies, and an expectation that safety is paramount!
Poor communication and failure to get along with others in the workplace is the number one reason for termination.
Cadets in our aviation program learn to communicate in a professional manner. Students communicate with professional instructors in the cockpit, with FAA control tower personnel, with FAA Flight Service Station personnel, and with each other- using clear and concise language.
