Wisconsin Aviation Academy was founded in the spring of 2001.  Since its inception, WAA has provided professional flight instruction to approximately 140 high school students and has provided aviation-related activities to over 150 students in our Aviation Career
Exploration (A.C.E.) program.   In A.C.E., we visit several aviation related businesses in our surrounding areas on fieldtrips.  Our entire Academy is invited on a trip to Oshkosh’s EAA AirVenture during the summer.  We also have, within our academy, a group for just girls called FlyGirls.  This group consists of girls between 13-18, who are interested in aviation.  We also host a 2-week  FlyGirls program during the summer for girls entering 9th, 10th or 11th grade. The next FlyGirls 2-week program will begin July 19th and run through July 30th.
We’ve introduced aviation to over 1000 students in the form of Intro Flights, also known as Young Eagle or Flying Falcon rides.

Cadets who have completed our program by earning their Private Pilot License have gone on to a variety of prestigious colleges.  Some notable names are University of North Dakota, St. Cloud State, Mankato State University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, University of Dubuque as well as U.S. Army 101st Airborne Training, and the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs.

How can we do this?

In 2002, founder of Wisconsin Aviation Academy, Tom Morgan, began Southern Wisconsin AirFEST, as a fundraiser for Wisconsin Aviation Academy.  ABC Supply Company, Inc. has since, generously become the title sponsor of AirFEST.  Several other area businesses also  support the event and what it stands for: Teaching our youth about Aviation!  Not only does WAA receive a donation from AirFEST, but many area non-profit organizations also receive money from this wonderful & entertaining event.  On Memorial Day 2010, AirFEST celebrated it's 9th year by hosting both the US Air Force Thunderbirds and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, being the only civilian air show in the U.S. to host both teams.

AirFEST is the sole supporter of WAA.  The proceeds received go towards flight training costs of the high school students enrolled in the program and also to the A.C.E. program, which takes the students on fieldtrips to aviation related businesses and well as providing Introductory Flights to all youth.
